GLI HARLEQUINS SI UNISCONO ALLA LOTTA PER PORRE FINE AI RIFIUTI DI PLASTICA CON IL LANCIO DEL TERZO KIT 2020/21

Gli Harlequins, squadra della Premiership Rugby, hanno svelato un terzo completo nuovo di zecca costruito interamente con plastica riciclata.

La maglia fa parte della nuova gamma Adidas PRIMEBLUE – realizzata con Parley Ocean Plastic, che è composta da rifiuti di plastica riciclata intercettati dalle spiagge e dalle comunità costiere prima che raggiungano gli oceani. Gli Harlequins sono il primo club della Premiership Gallagher a lanciare un kit con questa tecnologia.

The world is full of challenges at this particular moment and while it may be hard to look past the current pandemic, the issue of plastic waste remains an ever-present danger to us all. Within sport we have the ability to positively impact the world around us and change lives for the better. Which is why we are so proud to be able to launch our adidas 3rd Kit, featuring a replica shirt made of PRIMEBLUE fabric – plastic that would have otherwise been swept into the ocean. As a Club, we are striving to become more sustainable and we have begun to transform our energy management, waste and recycling programmes in particular. This is a fantastic opportunity to take another step forward within that spirit.

During lockdown and COVID, I started to study it a bit more, and just seeing that it’s a big, big area going forward. What adidas are doing with Parley in terms of taking all of the recycled plastic out of the ocean and off beaches, using it and releasing trainers, releasing clothes and jerseys, I think that it’s progressive and something I think Harlequins can be really proud to be involved with.
